Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Lead Report Developer to drive the BI strategy and architecture within the GSC Data & Analytics BI team. The role focuses on setting standards, data models, semantic layers, and governance for enterprise reporting.

You will mentor developers, oversee performance and security of Tableau-based solutions, and collaborate with Data Engineering and IT to shape the long-term reporting roadmap in a cloud-first environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years hands-on experience in BI, reporting or data warehousing.
• 2+ years leading a technical team.
• Expert SQL, including performance tuning of large and complex workloads.
• Expert data modeling and dimensional design.
• Advanced Tableau: server administration, governance and optimisation.
• Experience designing and governing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with cloud analytics platforms (AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure).
• Python for automation and data processing.
• Experience with Agile delivery and BI governance.
• Strong stakeholder management: advise senior leaders and push back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the technical leader for BI and reporting solutions, owning design, standards and delivery quality across the portfolio.
• Sets the reporting architecture: data models, semantic layers, datasets, naming and calculation standards.
• Reviews and approves solution designs before build, and performs code reviews before release.
• Owns report performance, scalability, security and access governance across Tableau Server/Cloud.
• Translates complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions and challenges when necessary.
• Manages workload across the team, sequences work by priority and flags capacity risks early.
• Mentors Senior and junior developers and builds the team’s cloud analytics skills.
• Partners with Data Engineering, IT and business leaders on the longer-term reporting roadmap.
• Ensures governance, audit, documentation and data quality standards are met.
