Qualifications

• 5+ years in BI development, reporting, or data analytics delivering end-to-end reports.
• Advanced Power BI skills: Power Query, M, DAX, and data modeling.
• Dimensional and medallion data modeling techniques.
• Semantic model governance including row-level security and workspace access.
• Advanced Excel for data maintenance and analysis.
• Familiarity with Salesforce data structures (Cases, Users, Opportunities).
• Experience with Jira or similar ticketing for work tracking.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Senior BI Analyst owns and delivers reporting solutions that support the CX organization (Customer Success, Support, Forms Design, Onboarding, and Knowledge and Enablement). This role works independently, end to end, from business requirement through finished, released report, with minimal oversight required from the Senior Manager. Responsibilities include gathering and translating stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, designing data models, building ETL pipelines, developing semantic models, and delivering reports within the Power BI platform. The role also owns the operational side of the reporting function: scoping work, tracking tickets, and coordinating releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into technical specifications and report designs within the Power BI platform.
• Build the resulting reports and dashboards
• Apply consistent formatting, naming, and design standards across deliverables
• Deliver ad hoc requests via Excel or an application's native reporting module (e.g., Salesforce Reports) when the request doesn't warrant a Power BI build.
• Design semantic model structure: tables, relationships, and DAX measures
• Build and maintain Power BI dataflows across Bronze/Silver/Gold layers
• Write and troubleshoot Power Query transformations
• Develop and maintain manual/spreadsheet-based data maintenance processes for sources without a direct system feed

Release & Process Management

• Scope incoming requests into tickets with clear requirements and acceptance criteria
• Manage release scheduling and coordinate deployment of dataflow, model, and report changes
• Maintain documentation for data lineage, business logic, and known data quality issues

Stakeholder Communication

• Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders across the CX organization
• Explain data logic, metric definitions, and limitations in non-technical terms
• Flag data quality or architectural issues that affect metric defensibility before they reach a report
• Operate independently against ambiguous or incomplete requirements, making sound architectural and tooling decisions without requiring direction from the Senior Manager
• Provide occasional technical guidance and mentoring to other team members

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in BI development, reporting, or data analytics, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end reporting solutions
• Advanced Power BI (Power Query/M, DAX, data modeling)
• Dimensional and medallion data modeling
• Semantic model governance, including row-level security and workspace access management
• Advanced Excel (formulas, structured data maintenance, pivot-based analysis)
• Familiarity with Salesforce data structures (Cases, Users, Opportunities, or similar CRM objects)
• Experience with ticket-based work tracking (Jira or similar)

• SQL or other query language fluency
• Exposure to APIs or scripting for data pull automation (Apps Script, Power Automate)
