Job summary

ZigZag is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our APAC team and lead the BA function within Product. You will translate business needs into clear requirements for engineering and help shape our digital payments roadmap.

You will sit between commercial stakeholders and engineering, ensuring value and clear understanding across teams, with a customer-first mindset and data-driven approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in financial services/payments.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Academic background in Computing/Business/Finance or related field.
• Experience writing requirements, user stories, and specs with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary link between commercial, operational, and technical teams, ensuring business goals are understood by engineering.
• Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements and translate into functional/technical specs and user stories.
• Model current and future-state processes, data flows, and system interactions to expose gaps and opportunities.
• Translate technical concepts into plain business language for stakeholders to act on.
• Facilitate alignment between stakeholders and engineers, resolving ambiguity early on scope and priorities.
• Build and maintain knowledge of products, payments tech, and market trends.
• Lead analysis across technical, financial, commercial, and social topics using primary and secondary sources.
• Champion data-driven decision-making with metrics, reporting, and visualisations.
• Stay aware of latest trends in fintech payments and tech.
• Partner with product managers to identify opportunities and shape problems.
• Conduct discovery with qualitative/quantitative data to size opportunities and value.
• Develop robust business cases to support roadmap prioritisation.
• Identify challenges and blockers; define and execute solutions with teams.
• Take ownership of analysis projects end-to-end with structured approach.
• Support engineering delivery by clarifying requirements and validating outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with payment network rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, finance, and sales to improve products.
• Help sales understand data points for customers as analytical partner.
• Communicate clearly to diverse stakeholders across the business.
• Lead, coach, and develop the BA team within Product.
