Job summary

MagentIQ is seeking a Senior Automation Test Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing solutions across UI and API layers. You will write automation code from scratch using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java, and work with UI automation, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and testing infrastructure.

A hands-on developer mindset is essential—testing should be built into the software lifecycle, not relied on low-code tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development, SDET, test automation, or related role.
• Strong programming experience in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
• Experience with UI automation tools (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
• Experience with API automation and testing (REST APIs, JSON, Postman, REST Assured).
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Interest in AI tools and LLM-based agents for test automation.
• Knowledge of performance/load testing (JMeter, k6, Locust).
• Excellent English communication and autonomous work style.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI and API layers.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
• Create automated UI and API test coverage for functional/regression/performance testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback.
• Expand test coverage by addressing gaps with automation.
• Validate platform changes by testing tickets from the Platform squad.
• Apply software engineering best practices to maintainable automation code.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and agent-based frameworks to accelerate testing.
• Develop AI-assisted testing approaches and prompting strategies.
• Support performance/load testing using JMeter, k6, Locust, etc.
• Analyze test results and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers and QA to align automation with requirements.
• Share knowledge to uplift QA automation skills.
• Drive continuous improvement across testing processes and tooling.
