Job summary

iScale Solutions is seeking a senior QA automation engineer to architect and implement a scalable automation framework for a real-world ML platform. You will independently understand business requirements and collaborate with teammates to deliver robust tests across APIs and UI.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of UI/API automation experience, Python and/or J2EE, and familiarity with Robot Framework, Git, Jira, and CI/CD in a fast-paced environment. Remote work and home-office setup are supported.

Qualifications

• B.S. or MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of experience with UI Automation tools such as Selenium, and API automation works, Jenkins.
• Knowledge and experience with ROBOT automation framework using Python.
• 3+ years of experience working with Python and/or J2EE technology or equivalent OO paradigm.
• Experience with automating test validation via API or through database using Snowflake, HIVE or AWS Athena is highly desirable.
• Knowledgeable in Git workflows like branching, merging and conflict resolution.
• Understanding of Agile testing methodologies required.
• Web application testing experience in frontend and backend validations.
• Developing comprehensive test plans covering business use cases and test cases.
• Experience with Jira preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, and SQL, NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Thrift, CI, and AWS is highly desirable.
• Experience working with container based solutions is a plus.
• Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment.
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Independently and cooperatively understand business requirements.
• Architect, design and implement a reliable and scalable automation framework for a real-world ML platform.
• Automate tests to ensure functional requirements and performance KPIs are met.
• Ensure high product quality through rigorous functional and API level tests.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Provide technical and group leadership to fellow team members.
