The Staff Engineer role requires ownership of architecture, backlog, and roadmap, and collaboration with product and platform teams to drive delivery and quality across the Android SDK

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with a strong focus on Android development.
• Deep expertise in Android ecosystem and SDK development.
• Experience with real-time communication technologies (WebRTC, SIP, RTP) strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin in addition to C++.

Responsibilities

• Own the Android SDK architecture, implementation, and long-term technical direction.
• Lead development and maintenance of the Android Voice and Video SDKs, including the underlying WebRTC/ReSiprocate/C++ layer.
• Drive build pipeline stability and participate in CI/CD migration efforts.
• Define Android best practices and serve as the go-to resource for Android-specific guidance across the organization.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and hold the bar on quality, correctness, and test coverage.
• Partner with product and platform leads to evaluate feasibility, estimate effort, and deliver on roadmap commitments.
