Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience with full close cycle
• Exposure to US GAAP or ability to learn quickly
• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations
• Experience with common accounting systems (NetSuite, QBO, Xero) and strong Excel skills
• Written and verbal English proficiency for US teams

Responsibilities

• Own assigned areas of the close process across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles
• Prepare and support journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and asset schedules
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and investigate ageing items
• Prepare supporting schedules and roll-forwards for financial statements
• Support AP/AR and payroll to keep the general ledger clean
• Assist audit requests and respond to auditor queries
• Provide variance analysis and reporting inputs to US leadership
• Document processes and flag improvement opportunities

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting function of US-based client companies, working remotely from the Philippines.

This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership. You will not be processing transactions in isolation — you will own defined areas of the close end to end, prepare the schedules and reconciliations that the financial statements rest on, and be the person who investigates a variance rather than the person who reports it.

You will work under an Accounting Manager or Accounting Head and alongside US-based finance teams. The role is built as a step toward managing a function yourself, and we place people with that trajectory in mind.

What You'll Own

• Your part of the close. Own assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close to a defined calendar, delivered complete and on time without chasing.

• Journal entries and accruals. Prepare and support journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset schedules under US GAAP.

• Reconciliations. Own balance sheet reconciliations for your areas, and investigate and clear ageing items rather than carrying them forward.

• Supporting schedules. Build and maintain the schedules and roll-forwards behind the financial statements.

• Transactional support. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting, and keep the general ledger clean.

• Audit support. Prepare PBC items and respond to auditor queries on your areas.

• Reporting inputs. Prepare the analysis and variance explanations that feed the reporting package to US leadership.

• Process. Document what you do, and flag the steps that should be improved rather than repeating them.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to a full close cycle

• Working knowledge of US GAAP, or strong fundamentals and demonstrated ability to learn a new framework quickly

• Solid experience with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end schedules

• Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, SAP, or a comparable accounting system

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets

• Excellent written and verbal English — you will be in direct written and live contact with US teams

• Accuracy under a fixed close calendar, and the discipline to raise a problem early rather than late

• Philippine CPA is preferred but not required; strong non-CPA candidates with solid close experience are encouraged to apply

• Experience supporting US-based companies or clients is an advantage

• Audit or public practice background is an advantage

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
