Job summary

MAVI is seeking a Financial Controller to own accounting, financial control, and cash governance for a high-growth US company, working remotely from the Philippines. You will report to the CFO or CEO and provide an accurate, forward-looking view of the company’s financial position.

Responsibilities include owning the close, multi-entity consolidation, and management reporting; designing control frameworks; managing cash, working capital, and treasury; and coordinating audits and tax compliance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including team leadership.
• Ownership of close, financial statements, and control environment.
• Experience with US GAAP, PFRS or IFRS and US-based clients/entities.

Responsibilities

• Own the close and the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow under US GAAP.
• Consolidation of multi-entity entities, intercompany, and currency translation.
• Deliver monthly management reporting and board-ready commentary.
• Design and enforce delegation of authority, spend controls, and SOX-like controls.
• Own cash management, 13-week cash forecast, and banking relationships.
• Lead audit, tax coordination with advisers, and statutory compliance.
• Lead the accounting and finance operations team and manage external partners.

The Role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to own accounting, financial control, and cash governance for a high-growth US company, working remotely from Philippines.

Alongside the integrity of the financial statements, you will own the controls over how money moves through the business: cash, spend approval, working capital, and entity compliance. You will report to the CFO or CEO and give leadership an accurate, forward-looking view of the company's financial position.

What You'll Own

Reporting and the Close

• The close and the financial statements. Own the close and the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement under US GAAP.
• Consolidation. Own multi-entity consolidation, intercompany accounting, and foreign currency translation.
• Management reporting. Deliver monthly management accounts and board-ready reporting with clear commentary on performance and risk.

Financial Control and Cash

• Control framework. Design and enforce delegation of authority, spend approval, segregation of duties, and payment controls.
• Cash and treasury. Own cash management, bank relationships, and the 13-week cash forecast.
• Working capital. Oversee AP, AR, collections, and payment runs.

Compliance and Team

• Audit and tax. Lead the annual audit and coordinate US tax compliance with external advisers.
• Entity compliance. Maintain statutory compliance for each legal entity, including covenant and investor reporting.
• The team. Lead the accounting and finance operations team, and manage external accounting, payroll, and tax partners.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including leading a team
• Ownership of the close, the financial statements, and the control environment of a company or business unit
• US GAAP, PFRS, or IFRS experience, with substantial exposure to clients or entities in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia
• Direct experience with cash management, treasury, and cash forecasting
• Experience designing and enforcing internal controls and approval workflows
• Experience leading an audit and coordinating tax compliance with external advisers
• Substantial experience with a major ERP, such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Strong written and spoken English, with the confidence to present to executives, auditors, and banks
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification

Preferred

• Philippine CPA (PRC-licensed), US CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred
• Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output
• Multi-entity and foreign currency experience
• Big 4 or public accounting experience followed by industry experience
• Experience with debt facilities, covenant reporting, or fundraising due diligence
• Experience at a venture-backed or PE-backed US company

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
