Job summary

Thrivemodal in Metro Manila seeks a senior accountant to independently manage full-cycle finance operations for two SaaS products. You will own AP, AR, and tax from day one, working closely with the CEO and leadership to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include monthly close, P&L delivery, and maintaining audit-ready documentation while improving processes and automating where possible, with daily overlap to US business hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping experience, including ownership of AP/AR.
• Hands-on tax filing experience for US multi-state and federal filings.
• Experience with US GAAP is preferred and strong Excel/Sheets skills.

Job description

We're looking for a senior-level accountant to independently manage full-cycle finance operations across our two SaaS products (Undetectable AI and TruthScan). This is not a training or shadow role. You will own accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax preparation and filing from day one, working directly with the CEO and leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Manage vendor bills and payment runs
• Own client invoicing and subscription billing, and follow up directly on collections for past-due accounts
• Keep AP/AR records accurate and current
• Perform weekly bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Close the books on a monthly schedule and deliver monthly P&L and net income figures to leadership
• Prepare supporting schedules and variance analysis as requested

Tax Preparation & Filing

• Prepare and file US multi-state sales tax returns
• Calculate and remit federal and state income tax obligations, coordinating with outside tax preparers where needed
• Support quarterly VAT filings for our international entity
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for all filings

Cash & Treasury

• Monitor account balances and execute transfers between operating and reserve accounts
• Flag cash flow issues proactively before they become problems

Process & Tools

• Identify bottlenecks in existing financial workflows and propose automated solutions
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping experience, including direct ownership of AP and AR, not only support work
• Hands-on experience actually preparing and filing tax returns (US multi-state sales tax, federal and state income tax), not just reconciling or reviewing them
• Proficiency in Xero
• Full-time, exclusive engagement; no concurrent clients or contracts
• Daily overlap with US business hours (Pacific Time)
• Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable presenting numbers directly to leadership

Strongly preferred

• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with quarterly VAT filings for a non-US entity (EU/Spain experience is a plus)
• Experience with SaaS subscription billing and Stripe
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, complex formulas)
