Job summary

Accountalent is seeking a highly organized Senior Accountant to manage the full accounting lifecycle for multiple clients and entities while building strong, long-term relationships.

This role leads month-end close, COA design, daily bookkeeping, and GAAP compliance, acting as a trusted advisor to startups and clients in a flexible remote-work setup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive U.S. accounting experience including full-cycle accounting.
• Experience onboarding new clients and configuring Chart of Accounts.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and U.S. GAAP.
• Knowledge of U.S. corporate taxation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end accounting operations for assigned clients or entities.
• Oversee new client onboarding and understand business models, workflows, and reporting requirements.
• Design and maintain Chart of Accounts structures aligned with reporting needs.
• Perform daily bookkeeping (AP, AR, payroll entries) and bank reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls; resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders; drive process improvements.

Accountalent is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and client-focused Senior Accountant to manage the full accounting lifecycle for multiple clients and entities while building strong, long-term business relationships.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating accounting structures from the ground up, leading month-end close processes, solving complex accounting challenges, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

What You'll Do

Lead end-to-end accounting operations for assigned clients or entities.

Manage new client onboarding, including understanding business models, workflows, and reporting requirements.

Design and maintain Chart of Accounts structures aligned with operational and reporting needs.

Perform and oversee daily bookkeeping activities, including AP, AR, payroll entries, and bank reconciliations.

Lead month-end and year-end close processes accurately and on schedule.

Prepare and review financial statements, including:

Balance Sheet

Cash Flow Statement

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies, system issues, and process gaps.

Act as a trusted accounting partner for clients and internal stakeholders.

Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Support audit requests and special projects as needed.

Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.

3+ years of progressive U.S. accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting.

Proven experience with client onboarding and Chart of Accounts setup.

Strong understanding of financial reporting and U.S. GAAP.

Knowledge of U.S. corporate taxation is a strong advantage.

Hands-on experience with accounting platforms such as:

QuickBooks

Xero

Similar ERP/accounting systems

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
