MicroSourcing is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our remote Finance team, supporting US-based accounting operations under US GAAP. You will handle billing, AR, month-end close, financial reporting, and budgeting analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• The Senior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including billing, AR, month-end close, financial reporting, AP, budgeting support, and process improvements.
• Work with leadership and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting, timely invoicing, strong internal controls, and efficient processes.
• Support revenue, billing & AR activities including invoicing, reconciliations, aging, and analytics.
• Assist month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and US GAAP compliance.
• Handle vendor invoices, bank reconciliations, GL activities, and expense reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting; assist ERP initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the company, including customer billing, accounts receivable, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, budgeting support, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely customer invoicing, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded accounting professional with experience supporting U.S.-based accounting operations and applying U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) in a fast-paced, growing organization.

Revenue, Billing & Accounts Receivable (40%)

• Prepare and submit customer invoices, including recurring and custom billing.
• Review billing support and validate customer-specific billing requirements.
• Submit invoices through customer portals and maintain supporting documentation.
• Maintain customer billing records and revenue schedules.
• Perform billing-to-accounting reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and support collection efforts.
• Coordinate resolution of billing discrepancies with internal teams.
• Maintain customer contract, SOW, and billing trackers.
• Monitor contract renewals, rate changes, and billing-related updates.
• Support monthly revenue reporting and forecasting.
• Provide billing, collections, and revenue analytics to management.

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting (25%)

• Support monthly close activities and deadlines.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Support accrual accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support tax and compliance requests.
• Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and US GAAP.

Accounting Operations (15%)

• Process vendor invoices and maintain vendor records.
• Resolve invoice questions and discrepancies.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain prepaid expense schedules.
• Support general ledger activities and accounting processes.
• Monitor corporate credit card activity and ensure transactions are properly documented and coded.
• Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies.
• Support vendor management and payment processing activities.

Budgeting, Analysis & Process Improvement (20%)

• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
• Assist with monthly financial analysis and management reporting.
• Support cash flow forecasting and financial modeling activities.
• Analyze revenue, labor, and operating expense trends.
• Develop recurring reports, dashboards, and KPIs for management.
• Maintain finance SOPs and process documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting, billing, reporting, and operational processes.
• Support accounting system enhancements and future ERP implementations.
• Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
