Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience supporting multiple accounting functions.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience with customer billing, accounts receivable, month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based accounting operations preferred.
- Strong Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Revenue, Billing & Accounts Receivable: generate invoices, validate billing, submit through portals, maintain records, reconciliations, aging, collect where needed, track contracts and renewals.
- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: support close, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, financial reports, analyze discrepancies.
- Accounting Operations: process vendor invoices, reconcile bank/credit card, manage ledgers, expense reports, payments.
- Budgeting, Analysis & Process Improvement: support annual budgeting, variance analysis, dashboards, SOPs, ERP enhancements.

The General Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the company, including customer billing, accounts receivable, month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, budgeting support, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely customer invoicing, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded accounting professional with experience supporting U.S.-based accounting operations and applying U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Prepare and submit customer invoices, including recurring and custom billing.
- Review billing support and validate customer-specific billing requirements.
- Submit invoices through customer portals and maintain supporting documentation.
- Maintain customer billing records and revenue schedules.
- Perform billing-to-accounting reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and support collection efforts.
- Coordinate resolution of billing discrepancies with internal teams.
- Maintain customer contract, SOW, and billing trackers.
- Monitor contract renewals, rate changes, and billing-related updates.
- Support monthly revenue reporting and forecasting.
- Provide billing, collections, and revenue analytics to management.
- Support monthly close activities and deadlines.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Support accrual accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support tax and compliance requests.
- Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and US GAAP.
- Process vendor invoices and maintain vendor records.
- Resolve invoice questions and discrepancies.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules.
- Support general ledger activities and accounting processes.
- Monitor corporate credit card activity and ensure transactions are properly documented and coded.
- Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies.
- Support vendor management and payment processing activities.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Prepare budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
- Assist with monthly financial analysis and management reporting.
- Support cash flow forecasting and financial modeling activities.
- Analyze revenue, labor, and operating expense trends.
- Develop recurring reports, dashboards, and KPIs for management.
- Maintain finance SOPs and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting, billing, reporting, and operational processes.
- Support accounting system enhancements and future ERP implementations.
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience supporting multiple accounting functions.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Experience with customer billing, accounts receivable, month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based accounting operations preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting systems or ERP platforms.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or Sage preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with U.S.-based teams.
- Ability to work required U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
The successful candidate will become a key member of the Finance team by ensuring invoices are accurate and timely, financial information is reliable, month-end close activities are completed efficiently, and management has access to meaningful financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions. This individual will contribute to strengthening the company's accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
