Job summary

Roblox seeks a Senior 3D Animator for a 6-month engagement to create high-quality avatar animations that bring Roblox avatars to life with polish and personality. You will develop standard locomotion and ability animations, optimized for the Roblox pipeline and avatar system (R15 preferred), collaborating with animation leads and engineers.

The role requires strong game animation skills, expressive timing, and proficiency in Maya.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in character animation, with a focus on believable locomotion and action animations.
• Excellent acting skills through motion, weight, timing, and personality in movement.
• Proficiency in facial animation (FACS-based) or equivalent high-quality facial rigging/expression work.
• Expert-level skills in Autodesk Maya for animation production and tools.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine a suite of standard locomotion and ability animations (idle, walk, run, jump, etc.).
• Deliver clean, weighty animations optimized for Roblox avatar system (R15 preferred).
• Iterate quickly based on feedback from leads, designers, and engineers.
• Export animations properly for Roblox Studio integration (formats and best practices).
• Use SyncSketch (or similar) for review and approval workflows.
