Position Summary
The Sales Executive is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and managing sales opportunities within the food and beverage packaging industry. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, expanding existing accounts, and building long-term relationships with food manufacturers, beverage companies, co-packers, distributors, and other key industry stakeholders. The Sales Executive will work closely with internal teams to provide suitable packaging solutions that meet customer requirements while achieving individual sales and revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the food and beverage packaging market.
- Conduct regular prospecting activities through calls, referrals, networking, client visits, and industry events.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve assigned sales targets.
- Develop new accounts and expand market reach by targeting strategic customers and emerging market segments.
- Generate leads and convert qualified opportunities into new business.
Account Management
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and account expansion.
- Conduct regular client visits and follow-ups to understand customer requirements and identify additional sales opportunities.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through responsive communication and effective issue resolution.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements, orders, and concerns are properly addressed.
- Support negotiations on pricing and commercial terms within approved company guidelines.
Sales Execution
- Prepare and deliver product presentations, commercial proposals, quotations, and other sales-related documents.
- Conduct product presentations and recommend appropriate packaging solutions based on customer requirements.
- Coordinate with technical, operations, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure successful implementation and order fulfillment.
- Monitor sales activities, opportunities, forecasts, and customer information using CRM and sales reporting tools.
- Consistently achieve assigned individual sales, revenue, and volume targets.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, competitor activities, and market pricing.
- Gather and provide market insights to support sales strategies and business development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for introducing new packaging solutions based on customer needs and market demand.
- Stay informed about developments in food-grade and sustainable packaging.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, procurement, quality, logistics, and finance teams to provide effective customer support.
- Assist in new product launches, customer qualification, sampling, and product development activities.
- Participate in sales meetings and contribute market and customer insights to support business objectives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Packaging Technology, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–5 years of B2B sales experience.
- Experience in food and beverage packaging is highly preferred.
- Candidates from related industries such as flexible packaging, rigid packaging, paper packaging, labels, corrugated packaging, plastics, cartons, cans, bottles, closures, or industrial packaging are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in acquiring new accounts, managing existing clients, and achieving sales targets.
- Experience selling to food manufacturers, beverage companies, FMCG organizations, or packaging distributors is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of B2B sales and business development processes.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and food-grade packaging requirements is an advantage.
- Strong prospecting, consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate packaging solutions.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Willingness to conduct regular client visits and develop new business opportunities.
