Job Description

The Sales Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates and quotations for pump, storage, and treatment system projects. The role works closely with the Sales and Estimating teams to turn client and consultant enquiries into timely, well‑priced proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate product specifications, cost estimates, and quotations based on client, consultant, and sales enquiries.
• Develop competitive pricing while ensuring estimates are commercially viable and aligned with project requirements.
• Review and peer-check specifications and quotations to ensure accuracy.
• Respond promptly to client and consultant enquiries regarding pricing, lead times, and technical information.
• Support the Sales team with quotation follow-ups, pipeline tracking, and CRM updates.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve estimating, pricing, engineering, and proposal processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve quoting tools, templates, and overall client experience.
• Maintain accurate sales and quotation documentation.
• Participate in relevant training and contribute to team and business objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/LICENCES

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, or Sales and Marketing are an advantage, but not essential with relevant industry experience.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE (ESSENTIAL)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, consultants and internal teams.
• High level of customer service and a proactive, sales-oriented approach.
• Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and competing deadlines.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills for cost estimation and margin calculation.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE (DESIRABLE)

• Previous experience in estimating, quoting or sales support, ideally within pumps, water treatment or a related industrial or engineering sector.
• Working knowledge of pump selection, hydraulics or process engineering principles.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or technical drawing review.

Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
