Job Description
Customer Service
- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner as they enter the store.
- Assist customers by answering their questions, providing product recommendations, and offering advice based on their needs and preferences.
- Provide detailed product information, including features, benefits, and prices.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns effectively, ensuring a positive resolution.
- Process returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policies.
- Help customers make purchasing decisions by suggesting complementary products (upselling and cross-selling).
- Promote and explain store promotions, loyalty programs, and discounts.
- Actively engage in sales activities, aiming to meet or exceed individual and store sales targets.
Product Display and Merchandising
- Maintain attractive product displays in line with company standards and promotional strategies.
- Ensure shelves are well-stocked, and products are neatly organized and properly labeled.
- Monitor product stock levels and report low stock or missing items to management.
Education
- Minimum Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Additional Education: While not essential, qualifications in business, marketing, or customer service can be advantageous.
Experience
- Entry-Level: For many retail positions, prior experience is not required. On-the-job training is often provided to new sales assistants.
- Previous Experience: Prior customer service, sales, or retail experience is a plus and may be preferred by some employers.
- Cash Handling: Experience working with point-of-sale (POS) systems and handling cash transactions can be beneficial but isn’t always necessary.
