Job summary

Harmonic System Inc. in the Philippines seeks a Safety Coordinator to assist the Safety Manager in implementing the Project Safety/Loss Prevention Program across project sites.

You will monitor field work to ensure compliance with safety, health, and security requirements. Responsibilities include conducting pre-deployment safety orientation for new site staff, assisting in daily duties, and, when needed, assuming supervisory tasks at the Plant.

Qualifications

• Conduct on-site monitoring to ensure conformance of field workforce with safety, health, and security requirements.
• Pre-deployment safety orientation for new site employees or returnees.
• Assist Safety Manager and, in absence, assume supervisory duties at the Plant.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and enforce preventive measures.
• Enforce lockout/tagout procedures and monitor hazardous activities.
• Ensure compliance with Safe Work Permit System/Procedure.
• Perform related tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Conduct full investigation of accident / incident, including near misses. Determines probable causes, develops, circulates and enforces appropriate permanent preventive measures.
• Strictly implement the Lock out Tag out Procedure of the plant to ensure the safety of all personnel where unexpected start-up or release of stored or residual energy could cause injury.
• Closely monitors scaffold erection / dismantling work, permit-required confined space entries, crane work / lifting operations, hot work, equipment energization, tie-ins, and similar hazardous activities and ensures that all relevant requirements are complied with.
• Checks and ensures compliance of site work-force with the approved Safe Work Permit System / Procedure in the plant.

• Reports to and assists the Safety Manager in the overall Implementation of approved Project Safety / Loss Prevention Program, with a primary function of performing continuous monitoring at work site to ensure continuing conformance of field work force with all relevant safety, health and security requirements.
• Conducts documented Pre-Deployment Safety Orientation with new site employees or returnees prior to mobilization to project site.
• Assists Safety Manager in carrying out his duties and responsibilities and, in the latter's absence, assumes supervisory and other functions called for on the Plant.
