Job summary

DOZA Group Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer for construction projects in Cebu. The role focuses on implementing and enforcing site safety policies in line with DOLE OSH requirements, conducting inspections, and coordinating with management and subcontractors to maintain a safe workplace.

The ideal candidate has DOLE-prescribed OSH training and at least 1 year of construction safety experience, with strong communication and discipline to enforce safety rules on-site.

Qualifications

• Must have DOLE-prescribed OSH training.
• Minimum 1 year of construction safety experience.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, permits, incident reporting and documentation.
• Familiar with high-risk construction activities (height work, hot works, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site safety policies and DOLE OSH requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections for unsafe acts and hazards.
• Hold toolbox talks and safety orientations for workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper PPE use and compliance with safe work procedures.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, hot works, electrical, cutting, grinding, and material handling.
• Verify work permits, barricades, signage and safety precautions.
• Maintain housekeeping, storage and access route safety.
• Keep safety reports, checklists, permits and documentation updated.
• Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and violations.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, subcontractors, workers and client safety reps.

About the role

This is a Safety Officer position responsible for implementing and enforcing site safety policies and applicable DOLE Occupational Safety and Health requirements on construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce site safety policies and applicable DOLE Occupational Safety and Health requirements
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify and address unsafe acts, conditions, and potential hazards
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety orientations for workers and subcontractors
• Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safe work procedures
• Monitor high-risk activities, including working at height, hot works, electrical works, cutting, grinding, and material handling
• Ensure required work permits, barricades, signage, and safety precautions are in place
• Monitor site housekeeping, material storage, access routes, and overall workplace safety
• Maintain complete and updated safety reports, inspection checklists, permits, and required documentation
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety violations
• Coordinate with the Project Manager/PIC, subcontractors, workers, and client/CM safety representatives

About you

• Completed DOLE-prescribed OSH training appropriate to the project's required Safety Officer classification
• At least 1 year of experience in construction safety, preferably in interior fit-out or renovation projects
• Knowledgeable in construction safety procedures, work permits, incident reporting, and safety documentation
• Familiar with safety requirements for working at height, hot works, and other high-risk construction activities
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of enforcing safety rules professionally
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Willing to work on-site and follow project schedules
