Job summary

A construction safety management firm is seeking a professional to conduct safety orientations, perform site safety inspections, and ensure compliance with fire safety standards. Candidates must be graduates of any 4-year course, with at least two years of experience in construction HSE management. Successful completion of the DOLE training course for construction safety officers is also required. This role is critical in maintaining a safe working environment and reporting safety violations in Taguig, Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety orientation and toolbox meetings.

Job Description

• Conducts safety orientation and safety toolbox meetings.
• Conduct site safety inspections which include but are not limited to scaffolds inspection, hot works inspection, electrical safety inspection, etc.
• Monitors and ensures provision and adequacy of fire safety equipment.
• Stop and calls the attention safety violators and make initial report for reference and recommendation for disciplinary action if required.
• Identify risks/hazards and provide necessary recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
• Conducts health and sanitation inspection of canteens, restrooms, rest area and lockers.
• Initial checking of DOLE-BWC basic requirements for newly hired staff and workers prior to screening of Project physician and orientation.
• Safekeeps the orientation records, toolbox meetings attendance and copies of different safety permits.
• Require safety data sheets for hazardous construction materials (e.g., solvents, etc.) and ensure availability of such.
• Conducts inspection of external working platforms and heavy equipment, etc.
• Collects initial data and prepares initial report during accident occurrence.
• Monitors, maintains and safekeeps safety signage and other safety materials.
• Reports to the HSE Officer; may report directly to the HSE Area Head in case of emergency.
• Recommends stoppage of operation if there is an eminent danger to people and property.
• Enforces STARRT Card accomplishment, permit to work and required checklists.
• Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Graduate of any 4‑year course.

At least two years of experience in construction HSE management or the like is preferred.

Has successfully completed the required DOLE training course for construction safety officers (COSH).
