Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to lead safety and security risk programs in a manufacturing environment. You will collaborate with the Company Nurse to implement health and sanitation measures and ensure OSHS reporting and audits are completed accurately.
The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, plus OSHA-related training if available. Strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and a proactive approach are essential.
Graduate of any 4-year business courses or engineering courses
With at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a manufacturing set-up.
Preferably with Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training, Basic Life Support, and First Aid Training
Organized, good work ethics and trustworthy
Possess a positive attitude in a multi-tasked environment and has a high level of confidentiality.
Knowledgeable with DOLE requirements and compliance.
1. Develops, promotes, and implements safety and security risk programs in the workplace. This includes conducting safety awareness, seminars, and information campaigns.
2. Work hand in hand together with the Company Nurse in the implementation of safety, health, and sanitation.
3. Ensure reportorial requirements submission and conduct safety audits in compliance with OSHS.
4. Evaluates and analyze hazardous, unsafe, and risk factors in the workplace and make recommendations on how to make corrective and preventive measures.
5. Conducts regular checking of machine tools, fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and equipment.
a. Analyzes accident reports and recommends necessary corrective actions;
b. Ensures safe operation of machines and equipment by workers;
c. Ensures Company compliance with OSHA regulations; works closely with OSHA during the investigation of accidents/injury in the workplace;
d. Anticipates, recognizes, and evaluates hazardous conditions, as well as, develops hazardous control methods;
e. Develops procedures to lessen the possibility of illnesses, injury, and other potential damages;
f. Inspects and keeps detailed reports on all areas, hazards, and operations of facilities;
g. Performs other reasonable duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his superior from time to time.
h. To advise and assist the employer in complying with the provisions of the Standards, especially in the submission of the reporting requirements.
i. To perform at least a quarterly appraisal/assessment of the implementation of the occupational safety and health programs in the workplace
6. To prepare an annual report of safety and health programs of the establishment
7. To be present during the safety inspections by authorized government agents and as requested during regular health and safety meetings.
8. To develop, implement and monitor Board Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Programs, and Procedures.
