Stage Riggers Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to lead site safety initiatives on construction and rigging projects in the Philippines. The role includes inspections, policy development, training and incident investigations to uphold regulatory compliance.
You will monitor PPE usage, maintain HSE records, and liaise with authorities and clients to ensure safety standards across sites. Strong communication and practical field fitness are essential.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites, equipment and work practices to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues
Develop, implement and update safety policies, procedures and work instructions tailored to project-specific requirements
Provide comprehensive safety training and induction programmes to all workers, contractors and site personnel
Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective and preventative actions
Monitor and maintain accurate HSE records, including incident reports, inspection logs, training documentation and compliance certificates
Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients and external HSE consultants to ensure adherence to local and national safety legislation
Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions to reinforce a strong safety culture on site
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all workers comply with safety standards
Prepare safety reports and performance metrics for management review and continuous improvement initiatives
A recognized Safety Officer certification relevant to construction or industrial operations
Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer in the construction, rigging or related industrial sector
Strong knowledge of Philippine occupational safety and health (OSH) regulations, Department of Labor standards and industry best practices
Demonstrated experience in conducting safety audits, hazard assessments and incident investigations
Proficiency in HSE documentation, record-keeping and the ability to produce detailed safety reports
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels and senior management
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently whilst maintaining a proactive approach to safety compliance
Physical fitness to conduct site inspections and walk construction environments regularly
Familiarity with rigging operations, height safety, heavy lifting and temporary works is highly desirable
