Wisc Inc. in the Philippines seeks a Safety Officer to promote and maintain a safe work environment on our construction projects.
You will develop policies, identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and monitor safety performance to align with DOLE and project requirements. You will lead trainings, incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and daily site inspections, collaborating with project teams to foster a culture of safety.
The Safety Officer is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment through the implementation of safety policies, hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety monitoring aligned with project requirements and regulatory standards. The role supports project execution by ensuring adherence to occupational safety regulations, conducting inspections and training, managing incident reporting and emergency preparedness, and collaborating with project teams to foster a strong culture of safety across all site operations.
Safety Policy Development - Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations in compliance with local laws and project specifications.
Risk Assessments & Hazard Identification - Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards on the construction site. Develop corrective actions for identified risks and ensure their implementation.
Assist in Monitoring progress and make adjustments as needed by the Project Lead. Update and Track project forms/monitoring (Entering data, maintaining databases, and keeping records).
Training & Education - Organize safety training programs for all on-site workers, subcontractors, and staff to ensure everyone understands site-specific hazards and safety protocols.
Compliance - Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) as mandated by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Regularly update safety programs to meet any new regulations or changes in local laws.
Incident Reporting & Investigation - Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses on site, documenting findings, and providing recommendations to prevent future occurrences. Prepare safety reports and maintain records of incidents, including detailed corrective actions.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Monitoring - Ensure proper use of PPE by all personnel on-site, conducting inspections to verify compliance.
Emergency Response - Develop and oversee site emergency response plans. Lead safety drills and provide guidance during emergencies, ensuring swift action and compliance with the protocols.
Collaboration - Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to promote a culture of safety. Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding safety performance and updates.
Daily Site Inspections - Perform daily inspections to ensure that all safety practices are adhered to by on-site personnel.
Site safety management where necessary and collaboration with the safety management team.
Observing best business practices and etiquette.
Client interface and customer satisfaction
Specific Training and electives on Safety is preferred.
COSH / BOSH Certified. -At least 10 years of experience
Have an experience in commercial, corporate office, hotels, new build / high rise towers
Knowledge and understanding on the local requirements by DOLE, DENR, and LGU relative to safety management
Understanding on job hazard analysis and requirements for high-rise structures within CBD
Bachelor Degree in any relative construction field.
COSH / BOSH Certified or equivalent
Pollution Control Certification is a plus
