Job summary

ASCEND BUILDING SOLUTIONS INC. is seeking a Safety Officer to advise on health and safety matters, coordinate safety programs, and conduct training for employees. You will secure permits, assist government inspections, and report incidents within 24 hours.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, SO certification (SO1–SO2), and at least 1 year of safety-related experience. Willingness to travel between Las Piñas and Cavite is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field.
• Certified Safety Officer (SO1-SO2 minimum) with BOSH or COSH training.
• At least 1 year of experience in safety, compliance, or warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of RA 11058 and DOLE Department Order No. 198-18.
• Ability to conduct safety training, drills, and orientations.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and audit skills.
• Preferably with a valid Driver’s License and/or own motorcycle.
• Willing to travel between warehouse locations in Las Piñas and Tanza, Cavite.

Responsibilities

• Secures all necessary works permits relevant to health and safety.
• Ensure the company’s safety and health compliance to OHSC.
• Acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the company and its employees and shares information by conducting meetings and seminars.
• Conducts investigation of accidents as member of the Health and Safety Committee and submits separate report, job hazard analysis; analysis of accidents and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Provides the assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety health inspection, correspond to accident investigation or any other related programs.
• Prepares and submits Incident Reports within 24 hours from time of occurrence.
• Maintains an efficient accident recording system.
• Implements safety rules on site.
• Performs countermeasure against accidents.
• Corrects unsafe work practices.
• Coordinates all health and safety programs for the employees and the top management.
• Correspond with clients regarding accidents.
• Conduct safety patrols.
• All other general affairs related to health and safety
