Job summary

TOYOFLEX CEBU CORPORATION in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines, is seeking a Safety Officer to implement and maintain health and safety standards across the organization and to document compliance activities and reports.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or medical-related fields, BOSH SO2 certification, and at least two years’ manufacturing safety experience; candidate will coordinate inspections, submit OSH reports to DOLE, support government inspections, and lead drills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and medical-related fields.
• BOSH SO2 Certification is required.
• At least two years of experience as a Safety Officer in a manufacturing industry is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and health and safety standards.
• Submit OSH reports (WAIR, RSO, and other compliance reports) to DOLE.
• Assist government inspectors during safety inspections and accident investigations.
• Inspect premises and processes to assess hazards and ensure compliance; report findings and countermeasures.
• Maintain an accident record system and coordinate corrective actions with Immediate Heads.
• Facilitate fire drills, gas leak drills, and related safety activities.

About the role

Implement and maintain health and safety standards in the organization. Documents health and safety activities and submits necessary compliance reports.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain compliance with safety regulations in accordance with health and safety standard.
• Submit Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) reports such as Work Accident Illness Report (WAIR), Report on Health and Safety Organization (RSO) and other necessary compliance reports to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for compliance.
• Assist government inspectors in the conduct of safety and health inspections, accident investigations, and other related activities.
• Inspect company premises and different processes performed by the employees to assess risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations in the assigned factory. Makes an inspection report of the identified hazards and recommends counter measures.
• Conducts health and safety inspections and accident investigations. Maintains an accident record system and coordinates with Immediate Heads with the actions taken to prevent it from happening again.
• Facilitates the conduct of fire drill, gas leak drills and other related activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and medical-related courses
• Must have a Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training for SO2 (BOSH SO2) Certification
• At least two (2) years of experience as a Safety Officer in a manufacturing industry is an advantage
