Job summary

JFE Techno Manila, Inc. in Metro Manila is seeking a Safety Officer 1 to enforce safety policies, conduct regular workplace inspections, and support the development of safety programs and trainings.

You will assist in investigations of accidents and incidents and prepare safety reports. The ideal candidate has a college degree in engineering/architecture or safety, a Safety Officer 1 certification, 1–2 years of OSH experience, strong communication, leadership, and multitasking abilities, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or safety field.
• Safety Officer 1 certification required; additional OSH certs are an advantage.
• 1–2 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Good interpersonal, leadership and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of DOLE OSH standards and applicable safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety policies and procedures.

• Provide assistance to Safety officer 4 in conducting regular workplace inspection and risk assessments.

• Provide assistance in the development and implementation of safety programs.

• Provide assistance in safety orientation and trainings with employees.

• Provide assistance in investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses.

• Prepare reports.

• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.

• Maintain accurate records of OSH inventory of supplies.

• Responsible in processing permits required for drills and other OSH activities.

• Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaign and continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• College graduate, preferably with Engineering, Architecture, or Occupational safety or related field.

• Certification as Safety Officer 1 (501) is must, additional OSH certifications is an advantage

• At least 1-to-2-year experience in Occupational health and safety.

• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

• Good interpersonal skills.

• Strong leadership, organizational and multi-tasking skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Knowledge of DOLE OSH standards and relevant safety regulations
