We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to join UNITED AUCTIONEERS INC. at our Subic Bay Freeport Zone location in Zambales. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across our operations. As Safety Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring occupational health and safety programmes to protect our workforce and ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and industry standards. This role is essential to our commitment to creating a workplace where every employee can perform their duties safely and with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and programmes aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventative measures
• Provide health and safety training and induction programmes to all employees, ensuring understanding of safety protocols and procedures
• Maintain detailed records of safety incidents, hazard reports, training activities, and compliance documentation
• Collaborate with management and departmental heads to ensure safety standards are met across all operational areas
• Monitor and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements specific to Subic Bay Freeport Zone
• Organise and conduct safety drills, including fire evacuation procedures and emergency response protocols
• Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging reporting of hazards and fostering employee engagement in safety initiatives
• Prepare safety reports and communicate findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Graduate of Bachelor’s degree preferably Engineering related course
• Formal qualification or certification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as BOSH SO2, COSH, or equivalent qualification recognised in the Philippines)
• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a Safety Officer or similar occupational health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or production industry
• In-depth knowledge of Philippine occupational health and safety legislation, including the Labor Code and DOLE regulations
• Knowledgeable on DOLE Regulation on OSH Standard
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels
• Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programmes on health and safety topics
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and utilise safety management systems
• Strong organisational and record-keeping capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
• A proactive approach to promoting workplace safety culture and continuous improvement
• Valid driver's license holder with the ability to operate vehicles safely and in accordance with SBFZ traffic regulations
• Residing in or near SBFZ, Olongapo, Subic, Bataan, or nearby areas, with the ability to commute to the workplace.
