Job summary

IDP Education Ltd is seeking a Revenue Assurance & Reporting Officer to safeguard revenue performance by ensuring accuracy and integrity of revenue data and reporting. The role oversees revenue cycle controls, leakages, and governance, delivering dashboards and insights to improve forecasting and profitability.

Responsibilities include end-to-end controls, variance analysis, and collaboration with Finance, AR, and Operations to align KPIs and drive informed commercial decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in financial reporting or financial assurance.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capability with large datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modelling).
  • Hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker).
  • SQL for data extraction, reconciliation and validation.
  • Understanding of IFRS15/ASC606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience producing timely, insight-driven revenue reports.

Role purpose

The Revenue Assurance and Reporting Officer is responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s revenue performance by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all revenue‑related data, processes, and reporting. This role provides critical oversight across the revenue cycle—identifying leakages, inconsistencies, and risks—and implements controls and reporting mechanisms that support commercial decision‑making and sustainable financial performance.

Key accountabilities
Revenue Assurance & Controls
  • Design, implement, and monitor end‑to‑end revenue assurance controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of recognised revenue.
  • Identify and investigate potential revenue leakages (pricing / application errors, unbilled students, failed integrations, refunds).
  • Maintain a control register with risk ratings, owners, remediation actions, and target closure dates.
  • Review and validate contracted prices and commissions across systems.
Reporting & Insights
  • Produce timely revenue performance and revenue drop‑off reports (daily/weekly/monthly), including trend analysis, variance commentary, mix/price/yield metrics, and cohort/segment insights.
  • Build and maintain dashboards enabling drill‑down to transaction level (self‑service where possible).
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to improve forecasting, price yield and profitability.
Data Integrity & Reconciliation
  • Perform reconciliations between source systems and the general ledger (GL) to detect variances early.
  • Oversee exception handling workflows; elevate material mismatches with quantified impact and root‑cause analysis.
  • Ensure master data quality and alignment with finance and BI reports.
Stakeholder Management & Enablement
  • Collaborate with AR team, Regional Finance, Client relationships, and Operations to align KPIs, definitions, and corrective actions.
  • Run training sessions on revenue reporting, data and controls.
  • Communicate issues and resolutions clearly via governance forums and executive summaries.
Required Experience
Essential requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in financial reporting or financial assurance.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capability, with proven ability to interpret large, complex datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, power queries, lookups, modelling).
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one BI or reporting tool such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker.
  • Ability to work with relational databases and utilise SQL for extracting, reconciling, and validating data.
  • Understanding of financial systems, ERP, CRM, POS, or booking/e‑commerce platforms (depending on industry).
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles (e.g., IFRS 15 or ASC 606).
  • Experience with data quality, reconciliation, exception reporting, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to produce timely, accurate, insight‑driven revenue reports.
  • Strong capability to explain technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing commentary, dashboards, and variance analyses.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Finance, Revenue Management, Operations, Technology, and Commercial teams.
Desirable Requirements
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CA, ACCA, or Data/BI‑related certifications (Power BI, SQL, Analytics).
  • Experience in the Education industry, especially dealing with universities.
  • Oracle EBS Experience
