Job Purpose
The Revenue and Yield Manager (RYM) is responsible for leading the Revenue and Yield Management function, ensuring effective pricing governance, revenue optimization, and profitability management aligned with the organization's financial objectives. The role oversees pricing approval workflows, revenue and yield strategies, budgeting activities, P&L generation, and RFA approvals, ensuring that all financial decisions are aligned with approved policies and commercial targets.
The position is accountable for developing and implementing pricing strategies, evaluating commercial proposals, and ensuring that all rate structures are optimized for profitability and competitiveness. It also ensures the timely and accurate preparation of management financial reports, including profitability analysis, budget performance tracking, revenue forecasts, and performance insights for both new and existing customers. The role provides strategic recommendations through data analysis and financial evaluation to support informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Reviews and approves pricing proposals, RFAs (revenue adjustments), and rate adjustments ensuring compliance with pricing governance
- Pricing strategy and bidding management
- Manages RFA approvals and ensures proper documentation and compliance of all commercial decisions
- Provides sales support through data-driven insights and performance reports
- Collaborates with Sales team to support account growth and commercial decision-making
- Budgeting, financial planning support, P&L generation and financial reporting
- Cross-functional coordination & issue resolution
Minimum Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Accountancy, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or any related field.
- Relevant certifications in Revenue Management, Pricing Strategy, Data Analytics, Financial Management, or Project Management are preferred but not required.
Professional Experience
- At least 2-5 years of relevant experience in Revenue and Yield Management, Pricing, Financial Planning and Analysis, Commercial Finance, Business Planning, or related functions.
- Minimum of 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably leading a team and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience in the logistics, transportation, shipping, aviation, or other service-oriented industries is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience preparing management reports, revenue forecasts, and business performance analyses for decision-making.
- Proven experience in pricing strategy development, revenue optimization, profitability analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and P&L management.
