Job summary

Willis Towers Watson in Manila is seeking a Retirement Implementation Specialist to join a global team ensuring accurate pension plan design features and compliance with US legislation. You will build knowledge of pension designs, work on outsourcing solutions for millions of benefit plan participants, and collaborate with US onshore colleagues on night shifts.

Job description

The Retirement Implementation Specialist role will be an integral part of a global team that will ensure that our systems accurately reflect client pension plan design features and comply with current US legislation.

The Role

• Be part of a pioneer group in Manila that will establish and grow knowledge around the pension plan designs, as well as the client and Government-specific rules and requirements that govern them.
• Have the opportunity to work within a line of business that provides pension, and health and welfare administration outsourcing solutions for nearly eight million benefit plan participants globally, including more than five million in North America.
• Work on the Manila night shift to work real-time with the rest of our US onshore colleagues.
• Have immediate focus on:
  • Understanding how pension calculations work and the business rules that drive them.
  • Test plan execution.
  • Raising bugs / issues found based on testing to your Lead RIS.
  • Release testing.
  • Running calculation regression and updating its list of test cases as needed.
  • Execution of monthly processing items (Cash Balance Rollups, Monthly Interest Rates).
  • Configuration of new clients' pension plan XML.
• Eventually grow into:
  • Fully understanding the client pension plans and system rules.
  • Fulfill responsibilities of a Primary RIS.
  • Being a component lead for implementation projects.

The Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or other major with significant quantitative course work.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Has advanced experience with Excel.
• Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution is required.
• Experience with MSSQL.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Self-motivated and ability to remain focused on assigned projects.
• Detail oriented and demonstrated organizational skills.
• Committed to quality and continuous improvement.
• Experience with US Pension Plans preferred, but not required.
• Experience working with the US and/or UK is preferred, but not required
• Experience with XML is preferred, but not required.
