GrowthAssistant connects top marketing and operations talent with fast-growing companies that depend on great execution to scale. Founded in 2021 and named by Forbes as one of the best startups to work at, we're a permanently remote team that runs on integrity, proactive candor, and a bias toward action — and we prioritize the human experience in everything we do. We hire for skill and for heart, and we invest in our people for the long haul.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Research & Insights Specialist for a leading Gen Z media and research company — building and administering surveys in SurveyMonkey, cleaning and analyzing the resulting data, and translating findings into clear, presentation-ready reporting.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
- Survey Building: Build and format surveys in SurveyMonkey using questions and direction provided by internal stakeholders, configuring question types, skip logic, response options, and audience segmentation.
- Pre-Launch QA: QA surveys before launch to confirm question order, spelling, formatting, links, logic, and mobile responsiveness.
- Distribution & Monitoring: Distribute surveys through approved channels and monitor response volume, completion rates, and deadlines.
- Data Cleaning: Export survey responses, organize the data in Google Sheets or Excel, and clean it by removing incomplete, duplicate, invalid, or improperly formatted responses based on established guidelines.
- Analysis & Visualization: Create basic cross-tabs, response breakdowns, charts, and tables, and review quantitative and qualitative responses to identify recurring themes, meaningful differences, and potential data-quality concerns.
- Reporting: Draft clear summaries of what the data shows, help translate findings into presentation-ready headlines and supporting points, and build/update Google Slides or PowerPoint decks using established templates and brand guidelines.
- Stakeholder Support: Support stakeholders with follow-up data pulls, revisions, formatting requests, and additional cuts of the data.
- Project Management: Maintain organized folders, research trackers, and documentation, and track project status, deadlines, and stakeholder feedback across concurrent research requests.
- Process Documentation: Document repeatable survey, reporting, and quality-assurance processes.
What You Bring
- Experience: 2+ years of experience supporting market research, consumer insights, survey research, marketing analytics, or a similar function.
- Survey Platform Experience: Hands-on experience building and administering surveys in SurveyMonkey or a comparable platform.
- Spreadsheet Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, data cleanup, pivot tables, formulas, and basic charts.
- Analytical Ability: Demonstrated ability to review data, recognize meaningful patterns, and summarize findings in clear business language.
- Reporting Experience: Experience turning research findings into organized reports, presentations, or stakeholder-ready summaries.
- Communication: Strong written communication and an ability to explain what the data shows in a concise, accessible way.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail when reviewing survey logic, response data, calculations, labels, and presentation materials.
- Methodological Discipline: Ability to follow research direction and established methodologies without independently changing survey questions, assumptions, or project scope.
- Multi-Project Management: Comfort managing multiple research requests, deadlines, revisions, and stakeholder inputs.
- Confidentiality: Ability to protect confidential client, respondent, and company information.
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience with Qualtrics, Typeform, Alchemer, Google Forms, or other survey platforms.
- You have familiarity with consumer, audience, brand, media, advertising, or Gen Z research.
- You have experience analyzing open-ended survey responses and organizing them into recurring themes.
- You have familiarity with basic descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation, audience segmentation, and survey-response validation.
- You have familiarity with dashboard or visualization platforms such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.
- You have experience using AI tools to assist with response categorization, theme identification, or first-draft reporting, with human review and validation.
