Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and ensure records are accurate, complete and up to date. You will be highly proficient in Xero and have strong experience with UK and European accounting requirements.

The role involves handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciling marketplace/e-commerce sales, and month-end close for a remote, work-from-home setup. Ability to manage multiple currencies and deadlines is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven professional bookkeeping experience.
• Strong Xero experience is essential.
• Good working knowledge of UK VAT and European transactions.
• Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Experience posting and reconciling marketplace/e-commerce sales.
• Ability to work remotely and manage deadlines.
• Comfortable handling multiple currencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping records in Xero.
• Manage accounts receivable, including customer account reconciliation and payment allocations.
• Post and reconcile marketplace and e-commerce sales, including settlements and fees.
• Perform regular bank, credit card, payment provider and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Check and code supplier invoices and credit notes.
• Maintain accounts payable and supplier ledgers.
• Reconcile supplier and customer statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure VAT and UK/European accounting requirements are recorded.
• Assist with VAT reporting and provide records to accountants/tax advisers.
• Maintain supporting documentation and audit trail for transactions.
• Assist with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Resolve invoice, payment and reconciliation queries with internal teams.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping issues promptly.
