ConnectOS is seeking an US Accounting Specialist to support client bookkeeping and accounting from a remote location. The role collaborates with the Controller and senior team to ensure accurate financial records, timely reconciliations, and compliant reporting across multiple clients.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years US bookkeeping experience, strong QuickBooks proficiency, and excellent communication and organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting/Finance/Business.
• 3-5 years of U.S. bookkeeping or US Accounting.
• At least 2 years of QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop experience.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and transactional accounting.
• Experience with bank/credit card reconciliations, journal entries, AR, and financial reporting.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and independently resolve accounting issues.
• Working knowledge of U.S. accounting practices and business tax requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bookkeeping and accounting services for assigned clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client financial records.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Review financial activity and account balances for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with identifying and correcting bookkeeping issues and historical discrepancies.
• Perform bookkeeping clean-up and catch-up projects as needed.
• Assist with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop accounting activities.
• Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for client accounting work.
• Communicate with clients regarding accounting questions and information needed to complete assignments.
• Follow established accounting procedures, workflows, and quality standards.
• Support recurring billing and monthly payment processing.
• Process and record ACH, wire, check, and other client payments.
• Maintain accurate payment and account records; monitor billing and inquiries.
• Prepare statements, credit memos, and other billing documents as needed.
• Monitor client retainers and account balances.
• Assist with follow-up on outstanding receivables and past-due accounts.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain billing/payment information in systems.
• Assist with monthly AR closing procedures.
• Prepare reports related to billing, receivables, and account status.
• Assist with monitoring client workflow to support timely invoicing.
• Assist with month-end and year-end activities.
• Prepare reports and supporting schedules as requested.
• Assist with research and resolution of accounting issues.
• Maintain organized electronic documentation.
• Support internal and external accounting inquiries.
• Participate in special projects and other accounting-related assignments.
