Job summary

Big Ideas Social Media Inc. is seeking an experienced Remote Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This full-time remote role focuses on the period-end close, financial reporting, and tax filings, with hands-on management of general ledger, accounts payable, inventory, and COGS.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, plus experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven and progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management or senior role overseeing core operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end month-end close.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas).

Responsibilities

• Lead, execute, and manage the full monthly and quarterly financial close cycle.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations including bank and vendor accounts.
• Manage fixed asset lifecycle and depreciation.
• Prepare and book journal entries for inventory and COGS.
• Directly manage Accounts Payable workflow.
• Review revenue journal entries and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
• Support preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
• Provide analysis and commentary on variances and operational drivers.
• Own non-income tax compliance including monthly sales taxes and other filings.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Assist Controller and CFO with finance tasks and ad hoc duties.
