Job summary

DOXA in the Philippines is seeking a Payroll Accountant & Compliance Specialist with 2+ years of payroll tax, compliance and W-2 processing experience to ensure accurate payroll setup and regulatory adherence. This full-time role handles multi-state payroll, SUTA registrations, agency correspondence, and year-end reporting, acting as backup to the Senior Payroll Tax Accountant.

Remote work from the Philippines with international teams; advanced English required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field.
• 2+ years in payroll tax, payroll compliance, or payroll accounting.
• Experience with SUTA account setup and state payroll tax registrations.
• Experience handling tax notices and agency communications.
• Experience with W-2 and year-end payroll processing.
• PEO or multi-client experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain SUTA accounts, complete state withholding and unemployment tax registrations, and process tax account updates, changes, and closures.
• Support tax account setup for new clients and new state expansions, monitor tax rates, and track registration status with agencies.
• Monitor and respond to routine tax notices, manage agency correspondence, and research payroll tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate annual W-2 processing, review and validate employee wage and tax information, process W-2 corrections and W-2C requests, and support year-end balancing and reporting.
• Serve as the designated backup to the Senior Payroll Tax Accountant, supporting quarter-end and year-end tax processes, payroll tax audits, and compliance documentation.
