Role Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Accountant – Payroll & Tax Compliance to manage the company's end‑to‑end payroll operations while ensuring full compliance with Philippine tax regulations and statutory requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience handling payroll processing, tax filings, government remittances, and financial reporting, with a strong understanding of Philippine labor laws and BIR regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete end‑to‑end payroll process for all employees.
- Compute employee salaries, overtime, holiday pay, night differential, commissions, allowances, bonuses, and final pay.
- Process mandatory deductions, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag‑IBIG, Withholding Tax, salary loans, and other authorized deductions.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare payroll reports and payroll reconciliation.
- Maintain employee payroll records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Process annual payroll adjustments and year‑end payroll activities.
- Handle payroll‑related employee inquiries.
- Prepare and file all required BIR tax returns accurately and within deadlines.
- Compute and remit taxes including Expanded Withholding Tax, Withholding Tax on Compensation, Value Added Tax (if applicable), Percentage Tax (if applicable), and Documentary Stamp Tax (when applicable).
- Prepare and submit BIR forms 1601‑C, 0619‑E/F, 1604‑C, 1604‑E, 2316, alphalist submissions, and other required BIR reports.
- Monitor tax deadlines and maintain a tax compliance calendar.
- Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies during audits.
- Stay updated with new BIR regulations and tax rulings.
- Prepare and remit monthly government contributions: SSS, PhilHealth, Pag‑IBIG.
- Process employee registrations, updates, and benefit changes.
- Ensure compliance with Philippine Labor Code, BIR regulations, SSS law, PhilHealth law, Pag‑IBIG Fund regulations, and Data Privacy Act.
- Prepare reports required by government agencies.
- Assist during DOLE, BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag‑IBIG inspections or audits.
- Prepare payroll‑related journal entries.
- Reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger.
- Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
- Support financial audits by providing payroll and tax documentation.
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field.
- A CPA license is an advantage but not required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Philippine payroll accounting.
- Extensive experience in Philippine tax filing and statutory compliance.
- Experience handling payroll for 100+ employees is an advantage.
- Experience with outsourced or multi‑company payroll is preferred.

- Experience using payroll software (e.g., Sprout, PayrollHero, GreatDay HR, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar)
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or similar)
- Experience using the BIR Electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) and Electronic BIR Forms (eBIRForms)
- Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
