Job summary

Remote Staff, Inc. is seeking a part-time Quantity Surveyor to support a Cambridge, New Zealand building materials client with material takeoffs and coding.

You will perform detailed quantity takeoffs from plans, measure cladding, GIB, framing, and hardware, and produce client-ready estimates for pricing and procurement.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years’ experience in quantity surveying, strong knowledge of NZ residential systems, and familiarity with Qontro/Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in quantity surveying or takeoffs.
• Strong knowledge of NZ residential construction systems.
• Experience with cladding, weatherboard, cavity systems, GIB, and interior linings.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Qontro or Bluebeam.
• High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs from building plans (PDF/Bluebeam).
• Quantify external cladding systems and interior lining systems.
• Estimate materials: fixings, fasteners, brackets, and hardware.
• Include accessories and hardware by cladding/lining.
• Ensure quantities align with internal product codes (Qontro).
• Produce client-ready estimates for pricing and procurement.
