The role ensures accurate handling of prescriptions, lab requests, documentation, and client communications, acting as a vital link between pharmacies, laboratories, clients, and Nurse Practitioners.

The position emphasizes detailed coordination, strong organization, and proactive communication within a distributed care environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary coursework or certification in healthcare administration, medical office assisting, or related field is an asset.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare, pharmacy, or medical office support role.
• Familiarity with prescription workflows, pharmacy communication, and basic medical terminology.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription-related activities including calls, emails, texts, and chats with pharmacies and clients according to service levels.
• Troubleshoot e-prescription transmission issues to ensure timely medication delivery; handle administrative tasks like transfers and brand-to-generic changes.
• Document and elevate missing prescriptions, refills, and concerns to RN or NP as appropriate.
• Support lab requests and upload lab results to the EMR for provider review; verify lab appointment completion and follow-up with clients.
