Job summary

Petit Psychiatry is seeking a reliable, organized Virtual Medical Assistant to join our remote team. You will handle patient scheduling, inquiries, EMR updates, and routine administrative tasks while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in medical administration, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, evenings or weekends as needed. Experience with Charm HR and insurance verification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience as Medical Assistant/Virtual Medical Assistant or similar healthcare role.
• Experience in a mental health or medical setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable using computers, EMR/EHR systems, email, and communication platforms.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Professional, dependable, and patient-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and reminders.
• Answer and respond to patient calls, messages, and inquiries professionally.
• Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) (Charm HR is a plus).
• Assist with patient intake, documentation, and follow-ups.
• Verify patient information and insurance details when required.
• Coordinate referrals, prescriptions, and medical records as directed.
• Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support the healthcare team.
• Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and other healthcare staff.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA/privacy requirements.
• Complete other administrative duties as assigned.
