Job summary

Remote Raven is seeking a Change Management Specialist to identify, document, price, track, negotiate, and close changes to masonry contract scope. You will work with project managers and field staff to convert changes into approved change orders, protecting contractual rights and ensuring proper documentation.

The ideal candidate understands commercial masonry and can tie changes to labor, materials, equipment, schedule, and cost impacts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in construction change management, project management, estimating, project controls, or commercial construction.
• Experience with commercial construction contracts and change-order processes.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to quantify construction scope and develop detailed pricing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor architectural, structural, and project documents for changes affecting masonry scope.
• Review revised drawings, specifications, addenda, RFIs, ASIs, bulletins, architect’s instructions, and field directives.
• Identify additions, deletions, substitutions, revisions, and clarifications that may constitute changes to the masonry contract.
• Review field conditions and identify work that differs from the original contract documents.
• Identify potential changes resulting from unforeseen conditions, design revisions, coordination issues, sequencing changes, and other project impacts.
• Review RFI responses for changes or clarifications that may affect cost or schedule.
• Work with project managers and field personnel to ensure potential changes are identified as early as possible.
• Prepare professional change-order proposals and supporting documentation.
• Clearly describe the reason for the change and the associated scope of work.
• Provide detailed quantity, labor, material, equipment, and cost breakdowns when required.
• Submit change-order requests in accordance with contract requirements and project procedures.
• Track submission dates and required responses.
• Follow up with general contractors, owners, architects, and other stakeholders regarding pending change requests.
• Maintain accurate records of all negotiations and revisions to change proposals.
• Assist project managers and company leadership in negotiating change orders.
• Respond to questions and requests for additional backup from general contractors and owners.
• Analyze proposed reductions or adjustments to submitted change orders.
• Provide supporting documentation to defend pricing and scope.
• Maintain a professional and factual approach during commercial negotiations.
• Escalate disputed or high-value changes when appropriate.
