Job summary

RemoteRaven is seeking a Masonry Architect/Designer to produce accurate, construction-ready masonry shop drawings for commercial projects. You will translate architectural and structural documents into detailed masonry drawings used for fabrication, installation, and approvals.

The role requires strong masonry construction knowledge, attention to detail, and collaboration with project teams including managers, estimators, and engineers to solve constructability issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience producing architectural, structural, or masonry shop drawings.
• Strong knowledge of commercial masonry construction.
• Experience detailing CMU, brick, stone, veneer, and reinforced masonry systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with Revit or other BIM software is preferred.
• Strong understanding of architectural and structural detailing.
• Working knowledge of masonry construction practices, materials, and installation methods.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed masonry shop drawings for commercial construction projects.
• Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, and enlarged views necessary for masonry installation.
• Detail CMU, brick, stone, veneer, reinforced masonry, and other masonry systems.
• Coordinate masonry work with structural steel, concrete, precast, storefront, curtain wall, windows, doors, roofing, waterproofing, and other building systems.
• Review dimensions, elevations, wall locations, openings, and structural support conditions.
• Maintain revision histories and drawing logs.
• Respond to review comments and issue revised drawings in a timely manner.
• Maintain organized electronic records of current and superseded drawings.
• Provide technical support to field personnel regarding shop drawings and masonry details.
• Participate in project coordination meetings when architectural or masonry detailing issues need to be addressed.
• Assist project teams with interpreting approved shop drawings during construction.
