Job summary

1840 & Company is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to own and support our IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments. You will monitor performance, apply patches, and improve security while providing strong end-user support in a remote setting with rotating hours.

The role requires 5+ years in systems administration, a Bachelor's degree, and hands-on experience with Windows servers, Linux, virtualization, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Systems Administration or related IT roles.
• Strong Windows experience; Linux admin preferred.
• Networking basics: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls.
• Scripting and automation for maintenance and patches.
• Security best practices, patching, hardening, and backups.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, OS, networks, and IT infra.
• Manage Windows and Linux systems; address incidents per SLAs.
• Perform configuration, patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and proactively resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation and assist with IT security initiatives.
• Collaborate with vendors and participate in infra projects.
• Provide guidance to internal users and IT colleagues.
