Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Medical Coder - Inpatient DRG (IPDRG) to analyze physician documentation in inpatient health records and assign MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, and POA indicators. You will work from home with day shift, ensuring accurate hospital reimbursement and compliance.

The role requires at least 2 years of inpatient DRG coding, CCS/CIC/CDIP credentials, and strong knowledge of HIPAA and coding guidelines. Competitive rewards and healthcare coverage are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Inpatient DRG coding experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Allied Health or equivalent.
• Active CCS / CIC / CDIP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MS-DRG, APR DRG, POA, SOI/ROM indicators.
• Proficient with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and coding software.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient documentation to assign accurate codes and MS-DRGs.
• Query physicians when documentation is unclear to clarify coding requirements.
• Collaborate with HIM/PFS teams to resolve reimbursement issues.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
• Safeguard patient information in compliance with HIPAA.
