Job summary

MicroSourcing is hiring a Medical Coder - Inpatient DRG (IPDRG) to analyze physician documentation in inpatient records, assign MS-DRGs and related indicators for accurate reimbursement. This remote, day-shift role requires coding expertise and adherence to coding guidelines.

You will review documentation, code using ICD-10-CM/PCS, and collaborate with HIM and PFS teams to resolve issues, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years inpatient DRG coding experience.
• Bachelor of Science in allied health field.
• Active CCS/CIC/CDIP or equivalent certification.
• Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic/Cerner/Meditech).
• Strong English communication (CEFR B2).

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to assign diagnoses, MS-DRGs and POA indicators.
• Code using ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG grouper guidelines.
• Identify HACs/PSIs to support accurate reimbursements.
• Collaborate with HIM/PFS teams on billing and denials.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
