Job summary

Expedock is seeking an Accountant to support the client’s growing eCommerce business from a remote Philippines-based role. You will handle daily bookkeeping, multi‑channel sales accounting, reconciliations, inventory and COGS, and monthly reporting.

You’ll partner with leadership to provide financial insights, budgeting support, and process improvements while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial data for decision-making.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of GAAP.
• Prior eCommerce or online retail accounting experience is required.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting, COGS, amortization, and cost recognition.
• Experience handling multi‑channel eCommerce transactions and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software, with QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and the ability to work with financial data.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records across AP, AR, payroll, inventory, amortizations, and other accounts.
• Record and reconcile daily sales transactions across multiple eCommerce platforms, including Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok.
• Reconcile payment processor accounts, including PayPal, Stripe, Amazon Payments, and TikTok.
• Manage accounts payable, including vendor payments, expense tracking, and related documentation.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and audits to identify errors, discrepancies, or unusual transactions.
• Prepare accurate monthly P&L statements and financial reports for management review.
• Provide monthly financial analysis, highlighting trends, variances, cost‑saving opportunities, and business insights.
• Manage inventory valuation and COGS recognition, including physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Support month‑end closing procedures and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled and up to date.
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Partner with leadership to provide clear financial reporting and support data‑driven business decisions.
• Identify irregular or unusual financial activity and promptly flag potential issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Assist with special projects, ad‑hoc financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
• Recommend improvements to accounting and financial processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
