Job summary

BruntWork is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper with hands-on Xero and Dext experience to support Australian trade and construction businesses. You will manage invoices, receipts, expense coding, bank reconciliations, client records, and automation across multiple client accounts.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of working independently while following client procedures, maintaining accurate time records, and providing clear daily updates.

Qualifications

• Experience with Xero and Dext for bookkeeping.
• Experience supporting Australian clients in trade/construction.
• Strong expense coding, invoicing, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts under client procedures.
• Familiar with Trello or similar task management.

Responsibilities

• Process receipts and supplier invoices in Dext with accurate expense coding.
• Verify documents, identify discrepancies, request clarifications.
• Perform bank reconciliations in Xero and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain supplier and client contact records; fix duplicates.
• Set up and maintain Dext automation rules.
• Provide basic admin support and organize digital documents.
• Track time accurately for each client and task.
• Manage tasks in Trello and submit daily recaps.
• Communicate workload, delays, and unresolved issues proactively.
• Maintain client confidentiality of financial information.
