Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking a Philippines-based Bookkeeper for a remote independent-contractor role serving an Australian accounting client portfolio.

You will maintain accurate financial records, process weekly payroll, and communicate directly with clients to keep accounts in good order. This flexible, home-based position offers ongoing career growth with a supportive Australian firm.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian GST rules.
• Experience processing weekly payroll and STP is advantageous.
• Proficient in cloud accounting software (Xero/MYOB/QBO).
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions and reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts accurately.
• Code transactions for Australian GST, including GST-free items.
• Process weekly payroll accurately and meet deadlines, STP and superannuation experience is a plus.
• Prepare BAS and IAS workpapers for review by the accounting team.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier bills and invoices.
• Communicate with clients to request information and clarify bookkeeping requirements.
• Prepare month-end and quarter-end reports and maintain client records.
• Document processes and client notes to support team collaboration.
• Track time accurately against client jobs for billing purposes.
