Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer - BMS / HVAC Controls to join our client’s team and provide technical support across deployments, cases, pre-sales, and escalations. You will troubleshoot BMS integrations, BACnet, networking, firewalls, proxies, and device configuration for enterprise customers.

You will handle issues across BMS, networking, devices, and cloud systems from triage to resolution, collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, Deployment, and Product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, CS, or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in BMS/HVAC/building controls.
• Strong knowledge of BACnet, especially BACnet/IP.
• IP networking knowledge: IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, firewalls, proxies, NTP.
• Experience troubleshooting BMS, networking, devices, cloud or integration layers.
• Experience managing support cases through ticketing or queue systems.
• Experience with Zendesk/ServiceNow/HubSpot or similar CRM tools.
• Experience supporting technical pre-sales or enterprise IT requirements is an advantage.
• Strong technical documentation and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical customers.
• Can start immediately, if possible.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve issues involving BMS, HVAC, networking, and devices.
• Troubleshoot BACnet integrations: discovery, mapping, communication, data validation.
• Diagnose networking issues: DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, ports, proxies, NTP.
• Support customers with network admission and device connectivity requirements.
• Investigate data-quality issues across devices, networks, and integration layers.
• Manage and resolve technical support cases through an external queue.
• Handle routine and complex technical escalations.
• Support Sales with technical questions during pre-sales.
• Assist Customer Success with connectivity investigations.
• Help Deployment teams resolve issues during installations.
• Assist with security questionnaires and customer requirements.
• Document troubleshooting processes and solutions.
• Provide feedback to Product/Engineering on recurring issues.
• Escalate issues needing product/engineering intervention.
