Job summary

Rovr Outsourcing is seeking a detail-focused Bookkeeper to support a specialist project marketing agency serving Australian property development. This remote role reports to the Deputy COO and handles invoicing, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, payroll and data upkeep across multiple entities.

The role requires 3–5 years of bookkeeping with Australian clients, strong Xero experience, and proficiency in Excel/Outlook/Teams. Hybrid communication and high discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience with Australian companies.
• Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience with Xero; property industry experience is an advantage.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and DEXT expense management system.
• Strong experience with invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation and payroll processing.
• Certificate or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance is preferred.
• Strong judgment and high attention to detail, with the ability to recognize when something doesn't look right and escalation discrepancies.
• A proactive communication style, with the confidence to ask questions rather than make assumptions.
• Self-sufficient and able to work independently with minimal oversight once trained.
• Discreet and trustworthy, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information.
• Strong ability to triage, prioritize and reprioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage the accounts inbox, respond to queries within 24 hours and escalate to the Deputy COO as needed.
• Generate invoices — pull requests from the accounts inbox, verify against Salesforce data, and generate invoices in Xero.
• Process accounts payable — prepare and process ABA file for office bills weekly, update channel partner details for commissions.
• Perform bank reconciliation across client entity bank accounts.
• Handle commissions processing and flag discrepancies for rectification.
• Process fortnightly payroll for ~25 staff across 3 entities.
• Update contacts, email addresses and bank details; perform data clean-up.
• Follow up overdue invoices and confirm payment timeframes.
• Support monthly, quarterly and end-of-financial-year finance activities.
• Over time, assist with channel partner payments, bookkeeping for related businesses, and SOPs.
