1840 & Company is seeking a remote Associate Accountant in the Philippines. This Junior Accountant role handles full-cycle bookkeeping with 4+ years of accounting experience, including payroll and financial statements.

Night shift hours follow EST; work-from-home setup and remote work experience are required. We offer a clear path to Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager, with benefits and bonuses based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years accounting experience (including full-cycle bookkeeping)
• 3+ years graveyard shift and remote work experience
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliations
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain financial information clearly to clients
• High attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple priorities
• Proactive problem-solver who can work independently
• Adaptable to changing client needs and technologies
• Team player with a positive attitude and continuous improvement mindset
• Professional, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and accurate financial records
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and payment processing
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Assist with client budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with CRA requirements, including HST, WSIB, and EHT
• Track and monitor client deliverables, following up proactively
• Communicate with clients and third parties to resolve financial matters
• Document client processes to improve efficiency and internal controls
