Job summary

1840 & Company is seeking a remote Associate Accountant in the Philippines to handle full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statements. This junior role requires 4+ years of accounting experience and the ability to work a night shift (EST 9:00 AM–5:00 PM in PH).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years accounting experience (including full-cycle bookkeeping)
• 3+ years graveyard shift and remote work experience
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliations
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain financial information clearly to clients

Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and accurate financial records
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and payment processing
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Assist with client budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with CRA requirements, including HST, WSIB, and EHT
• Track and monitor client deliverables, following up proactively
• Communicate with clients and third parties to resolve financial matters
• Document client processes to improve efficiency and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and recommend improvements
